Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

Madagascar Mission

Living by faith, giving from the heart

Bruno and Françoise have been working in Madagascar for a long time. It's amazing what they have done with limited resources. It goes to show how much dedicated people can accomplish.
    Here's their August 2018 newsletter.

Dear friends,

We pray all is well for you. Here's some news of our activities this past month.

While we were making our monthly visit to the little agricultural cooperative we have set up in the bush, we visited the house of the biggest family in the village. This couple has 7 children, the oldest one being a severely handicapped girl of 23 years old. This young girl was raped by a villager a couple of years ago and she is now the mother of a little girl. So they are actually 10 people cramped together in a tiny dark room, with only one bed. The children are sleeping on the floor, sharing some simple grass mattresses, and the parents are sharing their bed with some of them.

We were appalled at their living conditions so we decided to build them a new house big enough. The price for a simple house, 7m x 5m, is about 2,500 euros, because the building materials are mostly imported and are quite expensive. After contacting several donators, the Lord gave what was needed to begin the construction, so the work started this week. Once the house is finished we'll furnish with beds and bedding for everyone.

After were presented our project to this poor family, we also decided to talk to all the villagers, as we were quite concerned that there would be no jealousy in the village. We explain to them the dramatic situation with Claude's family which they all knew and how until now, we have always helped the village as a whole: creation of the agricultural cooperative, sanitary block, help for school items, warm clothes, etc.... but this time we wanted to do an individual action. We also shared our heart concerning other situations we have been in, in the past, where people got jealous and were mean and even destructive to other people who had benefitted from our help.

We talked about it openly and shared our concerns with them. At the end one of the villagers said: “We understand what you mean, we know you, and when you talk to us, our hearts change. We assure you that there won't be any jealousy here.” It was a relief for us to have this heart to heart talk with them, and it really encouraged us also to know that as we share God's Word with them regularly, their hearts are touched.

Please pray with us that it will be well done, and that this house will last a long time.

Meanwhile in Fenomanana

Bruno & Françoise Bruno & Françoise Bruno & Françoise Bruno & Françoise Earlier this month, we went to the Fenomanana school with our faithful co-workers, Zolisoa, Ismaella, and Tony to celebrate the end of the school year with a big party. We had prepared a special prize for the 5 best students of Bruno & Françoise each class, who received them proudly in front of all their schoolmates; then the younger ones did a show for everyone, and we ended up by having a nice festive meal cooked by Ismaella.

Before we left, the parents offered us, among other things, 20 enormous pineapples in thanks for our help during the school year.

With Angélique and Roxanne at the CBA orphanage

Bruno & Françoise Bruno & Françoise Bruno & Françoise Bruno & Françoise This month, we also brought the monthly food supply to the CBA orphanage and we cooked a yummy meal of pasta/bolognese with a special desert brought by Angélique and Roxanne. After the meal the children and the staff really enjoyed the retelling of the Prodigal Son story.

The lord showed us to make some improvement in their living quarters: this next week we’ll start building some nice shelves so that each child has his own space to put his own clothes and personal things neatly organised.

Please keep praying for the project of building a College of 5 classrooms for 200 students at the Fenomanana village. We need to raise 17,000 € With God nothing is impossible.

Also for political stability and against violence as the campaign for presidential elections has unofficially but effectively started with 36 candidates.

For Bruno who has been battling severe pains in his joints/articulations for a few months.
