Earthquake relief targeting specific area
With fresh supplies Stephen arrived back in Nepal just before the 2nd quake hit. He was able to bring extra supplies thanks to the generosity of an airline in Taiwan
Stephen and Joy with baby Erica are based in Taiwan and have an ongoing project in Nepal. Stephen was on his way out of Nepal on the day of the first quake. He returned just as the second quake hit with more supplies and get-up-and-go!
Another quake hit a little over 12 hours after I arrived from Taiwan loaded with 180 kilos of relief supplies with donated overweight from the airlines I was on. We begin to distribute the goods tomorrow.
It was another big one, which I am sure you will hear about on the news. You can check out my website as I have more current pictures. I don't know how long the electricity will last, so I am trying to get this off as quick as possible.
So many areas need assistance. At the moment I will continue to focus on St. Joseph's, as the area was 95 percent destroyed and people are living outside their homes.
The school still stands, though the government needs to check it out to see if it’s strong enough to handle the children attending there..., the sooner the better.
Amith and Indrani, the school principals, have sent their children outside of the country to live with relatives so they can minister and help those in need. Wonderful people.
Tonight Amith will sleep in an open field under a tarp with their elderly neighbour who is alone and has a pacemaker. He is afraid to stay in his house because of the tremors.
Many are sleeping outside these days. Thank God the weather is nice, but the Monsoon rains will soon come. Indrani will sleep in the van, as it offers her security from the tremors as well. I will brave the small apartment.
I read this quote the other day and it just stirred something in my heart in light of all this turmoil and chaos...
"The evil in the world is strong, but God is stronger!" ~ Pope Francis
