Editor's note: This talk is a bit of a "meaty" and perhaps a controversial subject. I hope it will not stumble anyone's faith, and it should not be taken as an attempt to discredit the Bible but rather a way to put it into perspective.

To paraphrase a quote... "The bible is not simply God speaking to us, but rather God's peoples story about the Creator"! This helped me understand where he is coming from. In fact, if you look at the Bible in that way it will help put to rest some of the Bible critics who try to debunk the bible because it's inconsistencies.

Having said that I also want to add that God can and does use anything to speak to you - He takes us where where we are at and know what we need and can take.

In my formative years as a young Christian I memorized a lot of Bible verses, and time and again the Lord brought passages to my remembrance in order to guide me in my walk with Him.

Heavenly Communication http://wpnet.co/tiramisu/tirsub-1000/heavenly-communication.html RSS Feed

“Lord, teach us to pray” ~ Luke 11:1

To cry out to the Lord in prayer is something that should come naturally to every truly born-again child of God. God expects each of His children, those who really know Him, to touch Him personally and make direct contact with Him, not just through somebody else’s prayers or faith. Therefore each of us must learn to individually make personal, intimate contact with the Lord through prayer, the heavenly link, the divine telephone between us and heaven.

Even though our “heavenly Father knoweth what things we have need of before we ask Him,”[1] He likes us to confess that we alone can’t solve all our problems and that we need His help. He likes us to be humble and willing to pray, to acknowledge His power and show our faith in Him by asking Him for help. Then, of course, He likes to answer, not only to remind us that we need Him, but also because He likes us to appreciate His help and to love Him for it — like a father.

The Lord loves to give us answers to our problems and questions and troubles, and He wants us to ask Him for His guidance. He says, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”[2]

He even goes on to say, “For what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him?”[3]

So don’t ever think you have to try to figure out all your problems and decisions yourself. Get down in prayer and get God’s answers. He says, “Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.”[4]

“Without Him, you can do nothing,”[5] but with Him, you can “do all things through Christ which strengtheneth you.”[6] So when you really need help, tell it to Jesus. “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. Cast all your cares upon Him, for He careth for you.”[7] Jesus said, “My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” But there’s one condition to it — “come unto Me.”[8] When you come to the Lord in prayer and faith, and ask Him for the answers, you’ll get them.

This is what prayer is all about. It is not merely some kind of religious ritual, but a living relationship. As that dear hymn says:

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear.
What a privilege to carry,
Everything to God in prayer.

Oh, what peace we often forfeit.
Oh, what needless pain we bear.
All because we do not carry,
Everything to God in prayer.

~ Joseph M. Scriven (1820–1886)

The Lord’s shoulders are broad enough to carry any load — all the burdens put together, including His own.

Hearing from heaven

With many people, prayer is a one-way conversation, and they do all the talking. They pray, “Hear, Lord, Thy servant speaketh,” instead of like Samuel, the child prophet, who at five years of age said, “Speak, Lord, Thy servant heareth.”[9]

Prayer is not just getting down on your knees and speaking your piece, but letting God speak His, too. This is why each of us is supposed to know the Lord personally and be filled with the Holy Spirit and therefore be led by the Spirit individually, so that we can personally seek the Lord and find the answers for ourselves that we need for our own individual cases.

Each of us needs to learn to follow God and to hear from Him fresh every day. You can’t just get inspired once and let that do for the rest of your life. We all need to hear from God. It doesn’t have to be out loud; it doesn’t have to be with an audible voice. It can just be in that “still small voice”[10] that you feel inside of you — sometimes not even words, just an impression that you have. God doesn’t have to communicate in words; He can just give you a feeling or a picture or an idea.

His Spirit is like a broadcasting station, broadcasting all the time; you just have to learn how to tune in. If you’ve got an open channel and tune in, the Lord will fill you — your mind, your heart, your ears, your eyes. Jesus can speak anytime, anywhere, if you believe. And that thing you see or hear with the eyes or ears of your spirit will come from the Lord — and it will be such a comfort to you.

Quiet time

If you’re always hurrying and rushing around, fretting and impatient, you’ll never be able to focus your full attention — your eyes, your ears, your mind, your heart — on the Lord for the solutions to the problems, the answers to the questions, the best decisions for the situations.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God. In quietness and confidence shall your strength be.”[11] You’re going to have to get quiet by yourself — somewhere, somehow, sometime — if you’re going to hear from the Lord.

Every great man of God, from Moses to Jesus, had to retreat alone to his mountain for a while in order to have time to meditate, pray, and commune with God. Jesus had to get up at the break of day before His disciples got up and walk out across the hills or up in the mountain to get alone with God and get His orders for the day from His Father.[12]

If you neglect your fellowship with the King of kings because you’re so busy with the affairs of the kingdom, it can be disastrous to your spiritual life and communion with the Lord. You cannot do the Master’s work without the Master’s power and guidance. And to get it, you must spend time with the Master.

He’ll solve a lot of your problems before the day even starts if you listen to what He has to say. But if you go plunging into all your troubles and your work without stopping to talk to the Lord and get directions from your Commander in Chief, then you’re going to be like a soldier who’s trying to fight the war all on his own without listening to headquarters, with no guidance from the top.

We all need more quiet time with the Lord in rest and refilling, drinking of the living water of His Word and fellowshipping with Him in the communion of prayer. It totally renews you and completely refreshes you and gives you new vision and fresh inspiration, new strength, rest and peace and joy. For “they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”[13]

“In all thy ways acknowledge Him”

Jesus told us that we should always pray. He said, “Men ought always to pray and not to faint.”[14] He also says, “Watch and pray,”[15] and Paul says “Pray without ceasing.”[16] Prayer is one way the Lord has of keeping us close to Him and in His presence continually, constantly dependent upon Him.

Prayer is like breathing — just breathing the Holy Spirit all the time, being in constant communication with the Lord.

He says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”[17] This is one of the most wonderful verses in the Bible to hang on to, especially when making decisions. We don’t have to know all the answers, we don’t have to lean on our own ideas or wisdom; we just have to lean on the Lord and His leadings.

Whatever you have to do, pray about it. The Lord is always right there with you. He says, “I’ll never leave thee nor forsake thee.”[18] He’s always there. So it’s never God who’s not there; it’s us who are sometimes not always there, when we run off someplace else and leave Him behind when we forget to pray.

He’s promised that if you acknowledge Him, He will direct your paths. He says, “You shall hear a voice behind you, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it.”[19] So ask the Lord about everything before you do it. Make sure it’s what He wants you to do.

Seek Him about everything — every problem, every decision — and He will never fail you or let you down!

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15 She [wisdom] is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

19 The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
28 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

30 Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

31 Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.
32 For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

33 The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

34 Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

Why believe in God? Is this like believing in the Easter Bunny? Isn't it illogical and improbable that there would be a personal being out there who created everything and loves the world and every living creature?

Picture Jesus http://wpnet.co/tiramisu/2011-12/picture-jesus.html How do you picture Jesus?

The Bible says, "he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him." Isa.53:2 (KJV)

It is not so important how we picture Him, whats important is how we love Him!

Heavenly Homes http://wpnet.co/tiramisu/tirsub-6-800/heavenly-homes.html RSS Feed

Summary of a message written October 1974.

Blobs are the very basis of the whole accursed world city system, the concentrated commercial whore of babylonic confusion!--Millions of people bunched up in big-blob cities living off the poor of the land while producing very little that's truly constructive themselves!

Big babylonic blobs of an enormous confusion of people... are the epitome of inefficiency, wasted manpower, impersonal, inhuman machines which are too big and unwieldy for anybody to manage well and personally or supervise and scrutinise closely, or produce coordinately and effectively, just like big blob governments who get so big and powerful that no man can possible run them properly!

That's why it's going to take the devil in the person of the antichrist, a world superman, to run the world's last super-duper power world dictatorship!--And even that's going to fail finally without the wisdom of God!

Only God himself in the person of Jesus Christ with his angelic helpers and angelised saints is going to be able to run such a world government fairly and well, with true justice, liberty, peace, plenty and happiness for all!

...there's only going to be one great city headquarters in that day run by Jesus Himself with the wisdom of God's Holy Spirit and inhabited only by angelic saints in a perfect atmosphere, a Heavenly environment and the most excellent housing the world has ever known!

Heavenly Homes But even God's government is going to be based on the small village plan, each one circular with radial streets like the spokes of a wheel centring at the hub of God's local administration by you and me, ruling in love over the villagers of this world who will till the surrounding land, grow their own crops, harvest their own food, make what few necessities they need, clothing, housing, implements, tools, etc., right there in their own little villages!

Each village will be virtually completely self contained, self-controlled unto itself, like one big happy family or local tribe, just the way God started man out in the beginning, his ideal economy, society and government based on his own created productive land for man's simple necessities!

Even then it will take supernatural administrators to run it, the angelic saints we will then be with superhuman bodies and miraculous powers to use when necessary to enforce God's will upon any who would dare to defy his wise, loving and caring angelic administration! God is going to show the world again how it used to be run in its earliest days of theocracy under the direct control of God and His holy agents, the prophets themselves!

We're going to go back to those days with only the beautiful creation of God around us and the wonderful creatures of God to help is plow and power and transport what little we have to do to supply our meagre needs, even as the poor of the world still do to this very day in the most remote parts of the earth!

Heavenly Homes Big cities, big governments and their big military machines to fight big wars with others big blobs of the same in their lust for power, wealth and glory are only a burden to the poor, a cruel, crushing weight which grinds their faces in the dirt with their loathsome load! Who needs them!--Only the selfish rich and powerful who want to be ever-more rich and powerful and are never satisfied no matter how much they have or how many bodies they grind into the ground as they trample over the poor millions to gain their ungodly goals!

The … Antichrist world dictatorship will at first be better than the mess we are in today and the even worse mess we will be in soon! Even the Devil-possessed Antichrist will be smart enough and diabolically clever enough to bring some better order out of this chaos.

Even the Devil will try not to make such a mess out of this world as idiotic stupid disobedient man has made! After all, he wants it for his kingdom and to steal it from God along with man's worship, so he's going to try to make it as perfect as he can, the imitation millennium with the imitation messiah trying to produce a plastic peace and plenty for all!

But it's going to blow up in his face and in the faces of his worshippers because they're going to try to push out and put down the true prince of peace, Jesus Christ, and he cannot be put out of his own creation!

This will bring on the world's greatest trials and tribulation it has ever known as they try to wipe out the prophets of God and his children with only partial success until the Lord himself returns and wipes out the followers of this fiendish beast instead!

Then the Lord Himself will set up the last and most lasting and only perfect government the world has ever known over those who remain and manage to survive the horrible holocaust and destruction that he himself will bring upon the forces of the antichrist as he rescues his own children from their cruel clutches by the supernatural miracle of the rapture and resurrection!

Heavenly Homes Then the meek and the poor and the persecuted and downtrodden shall inherit the Earth, and God's righteousness and peace plenty shall cover the earth, and no man need say to his neighbour, "know the Lord!" for all shall know Him and His mighty power, goodness and love!

He will then show the world how it should have been run and how they should have run it but couldn't without him and his love because of their disobedience to his unselfish and only law of love!

It will be a better world then with better people who have learned their lessons of the law of the love of God and will be happier than ever before because at last they will be purged and purified of their sins of rebellion against him and healed by the leaves of the trees of life which we shall minister to them from where they grow by the river of life within the city!

Only the most wicked of all, Satan, the Antichrist, his false prophet and his most ardent followers who received the mark of the beast and worshipped him and his image will remain in the lake of fire to be punished and purged of their diabolical rebelliousness as long as God sees fit, even until such time as they too, may have learned their lesson sufficiently for God to forgive them and restore his entire creation to its original perfection where all is well!

Some of this may be a shock to some of you, but it's the truth of God's word and you can even read it in the bible for yourself if you wish and want to know the things that are coming to pass and hunger for the righteousness of God and thirst for his living waters that bring eternal life through his love and the sacrifice of his son, Jesus Christ! For He has promised that if you do you too shall be filled and satisfied to overflowing upon others who need Him also! Hallelujah!
